I started off on Character.AI and had some success with telling the character to RP with the user and giving them the basic setting/backstory. Like most people here though, I found the filters annoying as I kind of want to see mature/NSFW elements in the story as well.it really just depends on what you want in your personal life. maybe a lot of people do self insert.
