Front Differential leaking out the vent tube. I have an 06 4wd and when I got home from a road trip the other night I noticed the front driver's side wheel well covered with some kind of oil. I looked down by the master cylinder and saw a small rubber hose with a 180 degree turn on the end laying on the fender well.Also, use a small screwdriver or wire to run through the fitting in the diff, to make sure it's not plugged with dirt, goop, etc. The video below is for a rear axle, but the front should be the same. The pic below was taken from the 2006 Owner's Manual. For 2500, 1/4" +/- from the fill hole. So, right at the fill hole, or 1/4" below is acceptable.One other thing to check is if the oil is actually coming from the axles. If the loader lift cylinder hoses are leaking, the oil can fall directly on the axles. I had to replace all 4 of mine at c.300 hours. Pull the diff out and replace it. Pull skid plate. Disconnect front shaft (remove roll pin) Remove winch. Some people pull the right side axle only. I pulled both (its easier) remove front diff. Gives you a chance to lube the splines and grease the wheel bearings any-how.Once it breaks the seal, it should pop free and most of the fluid will come out. Remove the top bolt and cover. Clean all the old RTV off both surfaces (cover and diff) and make sure they are smooth. Apply new RTV to cover and place back on diff. Replace the bolts and get them finger tight. I got some "Blue Devil Transmission Sealer" and a fresh quart of Mobil 1 75w90.
